The story
of laid off Chicago factory workers at Republic Windows who sat in and
took over their closing workplace in December 2008, refusing to leave

their employers and their creditors agreed to pay them the severance

radical action may still be the best way forward.

END
THE CULTURE OF MILITARISM
Presentation and Discussion with Chuck Kaufman, National Coordinator,
Alliance
for Global Justice
Saturday,
April 23rd
2:00pm
Brother
Kaufman will draw on his long experience in worldwide, and especially,
Latin American solidarity work, including a recent visit to the Honduras
to
advocate for a complete revamp of US militarist foreign policy. In his
own
words, "The foundation of the current military-industrial complex,
that
unholy alliance of the Pentagon and big corporations, which has turned
war
into a business, is only 60 years old. Slavery was 350 years old in
the
Americas, yet people just like you and me, managed over time to abolish
it."
